The HRD TRAX is an integrated characterization/decontamination system, combining ultra high-pressure hydrolasing and radiological detection. The HRD TRAX is essentially a patented TMR VAC TRAX^® equipped with front and rear radiological sensors for characterizing and surveying contaminated surfaces. The HRD TRAX is designed for spot cleaning of surfaces that may be only sporadically contaminated.

During operation, the HRD TRAX front sensor surveys floors, walls, and ceilings to determine if radiation levels exceed predetermined thresholds. The operator receives real time feedback from the survey instrument to immediately locate areas with excess contamination. When these “hot” spots are identified the operator initiates hydrolasing to remove detected contaminants. The rear sensor then resurveys the cleaned area to verify that the radiation levels are now below the predetermined threshold.
